CHARLESTON – Benchmark Litigation recently recognized Jackson Kelly attorneys Thomas J. Hurney and Stephen M. LaCagnin as local litigation stars in West Virginia.

Hurney and LaCagnin were identified among the most preeminent litigation practitioners in the country and listed as litigation stars in Benchmark’s 2014 Guide to America’s Leading Litigation Firms and Attorneys. In addition, Jackson Kelly attorneys Michael T. Cimino and Al L. Emch were also recognized.

Hurney’s practice involves the litigation and trial of cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death. He is the Leader of the Health Care and Finance Practice Group at Jackson Kelly and has significant experience defending industrial injury and "deliberate intention" actions, as well as environmental and commercial litigation.

LaCagnin practices in the Firm’s Industrial, Environmental and Complex Litigation Practice Group. While his defense work in recent years has focused primarily on litigation involving the coal industry, LaCagnin continues to defend a diverse range of clients and matters including personal injury, wrongful death, products liability and aviation accidents.

Benchmark Litigation focuses exclusively on the U.S. litigation market, with a research team based in the U.S. conducting extensive face-to-face interviews around the country over a year-long period. It pinpoints the best all-around trial attorneys at both the local and national levels.

Jackson Kelly PLLC is a national law firm representing leading global corporations, national companies, entrepreneurs and individuals in areas of law such as environmental, business, labor and employment, federal and state workers’ compensation, civil litigation and occupational safety and health. The firm has offices in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
