CHARLESTON — The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC (Spilman) announced that attorney J.C. “Max” Wilkinson spoke at the Appalachian School of Law Natural Resources and Energy Law Symposium. He joined a panel of knowledgeable professionals to discuss the national energy policy.

Wilkinson is co-chair of Spilman’s Environmental Practice Group, and focuses on environmental law and environmental toxic tort litigation in his law practice. He previously worked as in-house counsel at an Appalachian coal company, where he gained experience in a wide variety of corporate legal services.
Wilkinson is admitted to practice in West Virginia and Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of South Dakota and his law degree, with distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law.
Wilkinson has been an Infantry/ Engineer Officer in the Army National Guard for more than two decades and received the West Virginia Bar Association Citizen-Soldier Award in 2011.
