Lawsuit: Rental cabin should've had railing on stairs

Berrys

HINTON - A woman is suing after she allegedly fell down a staircase at rental cabin.

Kathi Sherill filed a lawsuit July 2 against Berry's Campground LLC and Gregory L. Berry, doing business as Berry's Campground, citing negligence.

Sherill says that on July 5, 2011, her husband and she rented a cabin from Berry's Campground. She alleges that the stairway in the cabin did not have a hand-rail and that as she was walking down the stairs she lost her balance and fell, injuring her knee and shoulder.

She claims that her fall could have been prevented had the stairway had a hand rail.

Sherill is seeking damages to fully compensate her for her injuries and other damages, plus costs. She is being represented in the case by Logan attorneys at Avis, Witten & Wandling LC.

Circuit Court of Summers County Case No: 13-C-37.
