Lawsuit: Water meter cover caused fall

Raleighcourt

BECKLEY - A Raleigh County woman is suing after she allegedly fell and injured herself due to an unsecured water meter cover.

Joyce Diane Green filed a lawsuit in Raleigh County Circuit Court on Aug. 13 against the Town of Lester and Lester Municipal Water Works, citing negligence.

Green says that on May 23, 2012, she left her home on Lester Highway and walked to her vehicle. She alleges that after placing some documents in the backseat, she stepped back to close the door and she stepped on an unsecured cover of a water meter, causing her foot to fall into the water meter hole and causing her to fall.

According to the complaint, the fall caused Green to injure her ankle and left foot.

Green is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages, plus court costs and attorneys fees. She is being represented in the case by attorney Kyle G. Lusk and Matthew A. Bradford of Kyle G. Lusk & Associates.
