Lawsuit says man died after sign fell on him at Princeton Lowe's

PRINCETON - A man's estate is suing Lowe's after he allegedly sustained serious injuries that led to his death while a customer at the store.

Cheryl Lester, as personal representative of the Estate of Brian Jeffrey Lester, filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Mercer County Aug. 15 against Lowe's Home Centers Inc., citing negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, on July 3, 2012, Brian Lester sustained serious injury and ultimately died after an accident occurred when he was a customer at Lowe's in Princeton.

The complaint states Brian Lester was struck in the head when a large metal sign was improperly secured and fell from a shelf. Brian Lester had injuries to his neck, shoulder and head and died on July 21, 2012, the complaint states.

The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Ryan J. Flanigan of Sanders, Austin, Flanigan & Flanigan in Princeton.
