BECKLEY - A Raleigh County woman is suing a lumber yard regarding claims she was injured on the property.

Raleigh County resident Tamara Shrewsberry filed a lawsuit Sept. 23 in the Circuit Court of Raleigh County against Priddy's Inc., doing business as Priddy's Lumber, for negligence.

According to the complaint, Shrewsberry was at Priddy's Lumber in Beckley, on Sept. 23, 2011. During her visit to Priddy's, Shrewsberry says she was significantly injured when a display of merchandise fell on her.

The plaintiff says that the injury has caused her to endure pain, experience annoyance and inconvenience, and had her enjoyment of life diminish. The filing also says that Shrewsberry's injuries are permanent and will result in significant medical expenses.

Priddy's Lumber is accused of negligence in the lawsuit, which claims that the retailer should have known the display was dangerous and the danger was not readily apparent to the plaintiff.

Shrewsberry is seeking an unspecified amount of damages plus attorney's fees and interest.

She is being represented by Beckley attorney J. Mingo Winters.
