Settlement over fatal car wreck worth $20K

Mingocourt

WILLIAMSON – State Farm has agreed to pay $20,000 to settle the wrongful death claim concerning a 37-year-old Delbarton woman who died as a result of a car accident.

On April 18, Linda Brumfield, the mother of Chrystal Runyon, petitioned the Mingo County Circuit Court to approve the settlement. The proceeds of the settlement are to be distributed equally to Runyon’s two children.

Runyon was involved in an automobile accident on Nov. 4, 2012, on Route 65 near Lenore.

Jason Duty allegedly crossed the center line and struck Runyon, who was driving a 1992 Ford Ranger, head-on.

The docket shows a final order approving the settlement was entered Oct. 29.
