GEICO paying $40K over accident that killed 4-year-old girl

Wyoming

PINEVILLE – GEICO will pay $40,000 to settle a wrongful death claim stemming from a May accident that killed a 4-year-old girl.

On Oct. 2, Wyoming County Circuit Court Judge Warren McGraw signed an order approving the settlement of a wrongful death claim brought by Heather Rocchi, the mother of Katelyn Joyce Rocchi.

The order said Katelyn died as a result of a “pedestrian versus motor vehicle accident” with Anyeta Thompson in Glen Fork on May 25.

Pineville attorney David G. Thompson earned $13,376.88 in the settlement.

GEICO is paying the $20,000 per person bodily injury liability limit on behalf of Thompson, and its per person limit of $20,000 for bodily injury claims that could be brought against Jeremy Rocchi.
