Woman sues Webster County Commission, alleges wrongful termination

Webster

WEBSTER SPRINGS - A Webster County resident is suing her former employer over claims she was wrongfully terminated.

Anna R. Woods filed the retaliatory and wrongful termination lawsuit March 20 in the Circuit Court of Webster County against Webster County E-911 and Webster County Commission.

Woods says the defendants discharged her on Nov. 14 after she had previously notified Webster County E-911 it was violating the Webster County Emergency Communications Standard Operating Procedures Manual and the West Virginia Minimum Wage and Maximum Hours Act.

The plaintiff states at various times she was required to work more than 40 hours per week and did not receive overtime payment.

Woods is seeking an undetermined amount of damages, including reinstatement. She is being represented in the case by Cowen attorney Dan L. Hardway.

Circuit Court of Webster County Case No. 13-C-10.
