Oak Hill failed to control rainwater, lawsuit claims

FAYETTEVILLE - Oak Hill residents are suing over claims water damaged their property.

Celestial Lafferty and Joey Lafferty filed a lawsuit Oct. 25 in the Circuit Court of Fayette County against the City of Oak Hill.

The plaintiffs say they resided for more than 10 years at 118 A. Butler St. in Oak Hill. According to the complaint, the defendant has recently failed to control rainwater and storm water runoff.

The complaint states that as a result of the runoff, the plaintiff's home has been damaged, including the foundation, exterior walls and interior piers.

The plaintiffs are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. They are being represented by Anthony Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC.
