NEW CUMBERLAND - A woman is suing after she allegedly tripped and fell in a parking lot.

Margaret Marker filed a complaint Oct. 28 in the Circuit Court of Hancock County against Joseph Farran, individually and doing business as Farran's Unisex Hairstyling.

According to the complaint, Farran was the owner and manager of Farran's Unisex Hairstyling in Weirton. Marker says that on March 1, she was a customer at Farran's Hairstyling and that while leaving she tripped and fell in the parking lot while walking to her car, causing serious injury.

She alleges the parking lot was unsafe and in a state of disrepair, violating the property maintenance code adopted by Weirton.

Marker is seeking an undisclosed amount of compensatory and punitive damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Daniel L. McCune of Sellitti, Nogay & McCune PLLC.
