Man says he slipped on ice at Augusta post office

MARTINSBURG - A man is suing over claims that ice at a post office caused a slip-and-fall accident.

William Conrad III filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia against the United States of America, citing negligence.

The plaintiff alleges on Oct. 30, 2011, he sustained serious injuries when he fell on ice in the Augusta Post Office parking lot, just off Route 50 in Hampshire County. According to the complaint, the defendant negligently failed to keep the premises safe.

The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. He is being represented in the case by Romney attorney Lawrence E. Sherman, Jr.
