Lawsuit: Roof of mine collapsed on worker

Wyoming

PINEVILLE - Paul Browning filed suit in the Wyoming County Circuit Court on Oct. 29, naming Brooks Run Mining Co. LLC, Wayne Fox and Corey Meadows as defendants.

Browning claims to have worked for the named defendants as a mine operator in Wyoming County. Browning alleges the defendants owned and operated various underground mines and had a duty to provide a safe work environment, including an adequately supported roof in the mine.

According to Browning, part of the roof and wall of the mine in which he was working collapsed, causing permanent injuries. Browning claims his injuries are a result of the defendants' negligence in building a sufficient support system for the wall and roof of the mine he was working in.

Browning is seeking compensatory damages for his injuries and lost wages.

Browning is represented by Brian L. Ooten of Shaffer & Shaffer in Madison.
