BECKLEY - Yvonne Lewis and Steven Lewis filed suit in the Raleigh County Circuit Court on Nov. 5, naming Wal-Mart Stores Inc. as the defendant.
According to Yvonne Lewis, she was at the Walmart in McArthur when she was injured. Yvonne claims that on Nov. 9, 2011, she was shopping at Walmart when an employee using a wagon-like device used for stocking shelves collided with her wheelchair.
Yvonne allegedly was knocked over in her wheelchair and had her leg pinned underneath some shelving. The Lewises are accusing Walmart of negligence and hope to recover monetary damages for the harm Yvonne allegedly suffered.
The Lewises are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages. They are being represented by attorney J. Michael Anderson.
