RIPLEY -- An Ohio lumber company is suing a Jackson County construction firm over claims that the firm repeatedly failed to make payments on its line of credit.

On July 6, the Carter-Jones Lumber Company filed a suit in Jackson Circuit Court against Carpenter's Sons Construction, citing breach of contract.

The plaintiff claims that on April 13, 2005, it entered a contract with the construction firm, agreeing to sell building supplies and materials to the firm on a line of credit. The deal carried on as established until December 2014, when the defendant allegedly stopped making payments, despite owing the lumber company more than $27,000, and continuing to accrue interest.

Represented by Louis Long of Thomas, Thomas & Hafer, LLP in Harrisburg, Penn. the plaintiff seeks damages of more than $30,000 to compensate for the unpaid debt, accrued interest and legal fees.

Judge Thomas C. Evans has been assigned to the case.

Jackson Circuit Court case number 14-c-62.
