BECKLEY – A Raleigh County woman is suing her landlady over claims she was injured on the staircase of her rented home.

Edith Mae Coots filed a lawsuit July 14 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Lisa Senk, citing negligence.

The suit states that on April 5, 2014, Coots fell on a staircase at Senk's Beckley property. Coots asserts that Senk failed to keep the stairs in proper condition, and that her negligence resulted in lasting injuries to Coots' shoulder, arm and ankles.
