CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County woman is suing Kroger, alleging injuries suffered at a grocery store.
Pauline Holst, of Charleston, filed a lawsuit in Kanawha Circuit Court against The Kroger Co., and Reece-Campbell Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 8, 2013, Holst was at a Kroger grocery store in Kanawha County for a business meeting at the defendant's request when she slipped and fell in debris left by Reece-Campbell Inc. in the walkway and parking lot of the store.
The suit alleges Kroger was guilty of negligence, careless and wrongful actions and conduct, personal injury to Holst, pain and suffering and other damages.
In addition, the suit says, the injuries were in part permanent and lasting in nature.
Holst seeks damages of $7,833.50, future costs of medical expenses as necessary, pre-and-post-judgment interest, attorney and court costs and a trial by jury. She is represented by attorney Clayton G. Anderson, of The Masters Law Firm in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey.
