CHARLESTON – A Charleston woman is suing after allegedly falling and injuring herself while walking through a department store.
Deborah Young filed a lawsuit in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Bon-Ton Department Stores Inc., The Bon-Ton Department Stores Inc., The Bon-Ton Stores Inc., all doing business as Elder-Beerman Corp., and Capital Building Services Group, doing business as CBSG Inc., citing negligence and premises liability.
Young claims to have been shopping in the defendant's store on Oct. 5, 2013, at the Shops at Kanawha when she slipped and fell on a substance that was on the floor. Young claims that there was no slip protection or slip warnings in place. As a result of the fall, Young claims to have suffered multiple injuries.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost of wages, physical limitations, and other damages associated to the injuries.
