CHARLESTON — West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has announced several additions to his office staff.
These additions to the Consumer Division, communications staff, and front office administrative and legal divisions will all be in place this month.
“These individuals build on a team committed to making the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office one of the best law firms in the country,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Our reputation for quality continues to attract the best and brightest to the service of our state.”
Deputy Attorney General Ann Haight, who is currently serving as the Division Director for the Civil Rights Division, has been named Division Director for Consumer Protection. Before joining the office earlier this year, Ann was a partner at Kay, Casto and Chaney. She is an experienced litigator and a well-respected member of the bar. In addition to Consumer Protection, Ann will continue to assist with the operation of Civil Rights.
Curtis Johnson will be joining the Office as Press Secretary. Curtis is an 11 year veteran of The Herald-Dispatch newspaper in Huntington where most recently his reporting responsibilities included coverage of courts, crime and county government.
“Curtis brings an impressive background in West Virginia journalism and knowledge of the legal system," Morrisey said. "He will play a key role in explaining to the public the work of the Attorney General’s office."
Johnson has won the West Virginia Press Association award for best legal issues and courts coverage five times. He is a graduate of Marshall University and a native of West Virginia.
Morrisey also announced Erin Timony has been appointed Deputy Press Secretary. Erin is a government and education reporter with Charleston-based The State Journal. She is a graduate of the University of Mississippi.
“Erin will help strengthen our communications operation to ensure the public has timely and transparent information from the Attorney General’s Office. We are pleased she is joining us,” Morrisey said.
Also joining the Attorney General’s Office will be Assistant Attorney General Katlyn Miller, a former clerk to United States District Court Judge James C. Mahan (University of Charleston ’65), as well as Deputy Chief of Staff Lance Henderson, and Investigator Tyson Mitchell.
