Mycom North America sued over unpaid rent claims

Leaseagreement

WINFIELD – A Putnam company is suing a telecommunications company over unpaid rent allegations.

Putnam Farm and Land Co. filed a complaint Sept. 14 in Putnam Circuit Court against Mycom North America, alleging breach of contract.

On Jan. 15, 2014, the complaint states, Putnam Farm and Land, as landlord, entered into lease with Mycom, as tenant, on a parcel of real estate in Putnam County.

On Oct. 24, 2014, Mycom notified Putnam Farm and Land of its intent to extend the term of the lease for one year, but sometime during January, Mycom unilaterally removed itself from the leasehold, stopped paying rent, and stopped complying with its other obligations under the lease terms, the complaint states.

The lease has not been terminated and Mycom is still obligated to comply with its terms, including rent of $6,000 per month, until the lease's termination in January 2016. The complaint alleges Mycom is liable for monthly rent and other costs up to and including December.

Putnam Farm and Land seeks a judgment of $42,027.50, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees. The company is represented by Raymond G. Dodson of Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder.
