KEYSER – A Maryland company is suing a Keyser construction company over claims it has failed to pay for goods and services.
Cintas Corp. filed a lawsuit May 26 in Mineral Circuit Court against Steven Becker and Becker's Service, alleging breach of contract.
On July 17, 2014, the suit states, the defendants entered into a contract with Cintas in which the defendants would pay for goods and services provided by Cintas.
On May 15, Cintas notified the defendants they were in breach of the agreement due to nonpayment and their express desire to terminate the agreement after they had already received services from Cintas. On that date, the defendants were in arrears to Cintas in the amount of $2,303.52.
Per provisions in the contract, the defendants were also to pay the greater of 50 percent of the average weekly invoice total multiplied by the number of weeks remaining in the unexpired term, or buy back all garments and other products allocated to the customer.
The suit alleges the defendants have failed to make these payments to Cintas.
Cintas seeks a judgment in the amount of $9,321.15, plus costs of the suit. Cintas is represented by Michael A. Llewellyn of Geppert, McMullen, Paye & Getty in Cumberland, Md.
