Woman faults city of Huntington over water damages to her home

HUNTINGTON – A Huntington woman is suing the city over flood damages to her home.

Kristen M. Anderson filed a lawsuit in Cabell Circuit Court against the city of Huntington, alleging negligence.

On July 29, 2013, the suit states, Anderson purchased a residence at 134 N. Queens Court in Huntington. On Aug. 22, 2014, Anderson's home was severely damaged by a flood, which the suit states was caused in whole or in part by the negligent failure of the city of Huntington to properly design, construct, and maintain certain drainage systems. As a result, Anderson has suffered damages.

Anderson seeks damages, costs, expenses, attorney fees and interests.

Anderson is represented by attorney Roy D. Baker Jr. of Baker Law Offices in Huntington. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
