BECKLEY – A well construction company says its commercial property tenant owes nearly $100,000 in unpaid rent.
C&J Well Services Inc., doing business as C&J Energy Services, filed against Southern Heavy Equipment LLC on Sept. 30 in Raleigh Circuit Court, seeking payment.
According to the complaint, C&J Well Services Inc. became the de facto landlord of property its predecessors subleased to Southern Heavy Equipment for $9,000 per month. The original lessor is EOTT Holdings. Southern Heavy Equipment allegedly owes $94,500 in back rent on the lease, which is set to expire on Aug. 30, 2017.
C&J Well Services seeks damages of $355,500 for the amount of the unpaid rent plus the remaining payments due until the lease ends, as well as eviction of Southern Heavy Equipment. The plaintiff is being represented by Paul O. Clay Jr. of the Fayetteville firm Clay, Steele & Associates.
