FAYETTEVILLE – A Fayette County man is suing his former employer, a Texas artificial lift systems company, after another employee allegedly assaulted him.
Terry Highlander filed a lawsuit in Fayette Circuit Court against Jonathan Imhoff and Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems, also known as Weatherford Artificial Life Systems, citing violation of the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
Highlander worked as a sand coordinator for Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems from June 2, 2014 to Feb. 4, the suit states.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 30, Imhoff physically assaulted Highlander. Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems fined Highlander after the incident, according to the suit.
As a result, Highlander suffered permanent personal injuries and has lost wages and earning capacity.
Highlander seeks damages for lost wages and benefits, back and front pay, indignity, embarrassment and humiliation, and punitive damages, plus interest and attorney fees and costs.
He is represented by attorney Anthony M. Salvatore of Hewitt & Salvatore in Beckley. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul M. Blake Jr.
