Minnesota electric company's driver accused of negligence in Oakvale crash

PRINCETON – A Mercer County woman is suing an employee of a Minnesota-based electric company after a crash in Oakvale.

Ginger Dawn Cavallo filed a lawsuit on Nov. 25 against Emerson Electric Co., EPM Power & Water Solutions and Phillip John Riggs Jr. in the Mercer Circuit Court, citing negligence.

On or about Nov. 27, 2013, Riggs as an employee of Emerson Electric, according to the lawsuit, was driving a 2012 Dodge Caravan, when his vehicle struck a 1997 Honda Civic driven by Cavallo, causing her personal bodily injury. Her injuries included severe trauma to her head and eyes. She also suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. The crash occurred near Whitlow Road in Oakvale.

Cavallo, who is seeking $25,877.52 in medical expenditures, is represented by attorneys Randall L. Veneri and Anthony R. Veneri of Princeton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Court Judge William J. Sadler.
