PINEVILLE — A Wyoming County couple is suing General Motors for alleged defects in a new truck they purchased early last year.

Warren K. Reed and Alisha Reed filed a lawsuit Feb. 3 in Wyoming Circuit Court against General Motors LLC, alleging breach of warranty.

According to the complaint, the Reeds bought a 2014 GMC Sierra 1 truck on March 7, 2015 from Beckley Buick GMC Auto Mall. The suit says the couple returned the truck for warranty repairs to the transmission three times, but have not been able to eliminate the problem. Under the state’s consumer protection laws, the couple seeks to invalidate the sale and obtain a refund of the purchase price, taxes, license and registration fees, and other costs associated with the vehicle’s purchase.

The plaintiffs seek a jury trial and damages as outlined above, plus damages for the truck’s diminished value. They are represented by attorney David G. Thompson of Pineville.

Judge Warren McGraw has been assigned to the case.
