Teen accuses driver allegedly responsible for car wreck of causing injuries

Car collision

FAYETTEVILLE – A Fayette County woman is suing a driver who allegedly caused a wreck with the vehicle in which she was a passenger in 2013.

Savannah Dorsey filed a lawsuit Jan. 27 in Fayette Circuit Court against Elizabeth Tomlin, alleging personal injury liability.

According to the complaint, Dorsey, 17 at the time of the accident, was traveling in a car owned by Joel and Rebecca Rinehart on Route 19. The suit says Tomlin negligently operated her car in such a way that it collided with the vehicle in which Dorsey was a passenger. Dorsey says her medical expenses have topped $9,000 and are expected to increase.

Dorsey seeks a jury trial and compensation for pain and suffering, mental anguish and medical costs in an amount to be proven at trial. She is represented by attorney Greg A. Hewitt of Hewitt & Salvatore PLLC in Fayetteville.  Judge Paul M. Blake Jr. is assigned to the case.
