Bank accuses construction firm of defaulting on loans

FAYETTEVILLE – A bank is suing a Union company and its Oak Hill owners for allegedly defaulting on three loans.

Branch Banking & Trust Co. filed a lawsuit Feb. 8 in Fayette Circuit Court against Tim Murray Contracting Inc. and its owners, Timothy T. and Kathy V. Murray.

According to the complaint, since 2007 BB&T has loaned the defendants three separate loans, with the Murrays each signing guaranty agreements to repay the full amounts. As of Feb. 3, the suit claims $215,886.02 is outstanding, plus additional interest that may accrue.

BB&T seeks recovery of the remaining amounts owed, plus interest. It is represented by attorney Laci B. Browning and Charles I. Jones Jr. of Campbell Woods PLLC in Huntington. Circuit Judge Paul M. Blake Jr. is assigned to the case.
