WHEELING – A Martins Ferry, Ohio woman says she slipped and injured herself on icy pavement at a West Virginia shopping center in 2014.

Jennifer Greaves filed a lawsuit on Feb. 12 in Ohio Circuit Court against Elm Terrace Shopping Center LLC and Timothy Templin, alleging personal injury liability.

According to the complaint, as soon as Greaves exited her car during a Feb. 12, 2014 visit to Elm Terrace Shopping Center, she fell on ice and injured her finger, hand, back and ankle. In addition, she alleges the incident aggravated her cerebral palsy. The suit claims negligence on the part of Elm Street Shopping Center and Templin, who was hired to remove the center’s snow and ice, led to her injuries.

Greaves seeks a jury trial and compensation for ongoing medical care, emotional distress, litigation costs and interest. She is represented by Wheeling attorney Justin M. Hershberger of the Hershberger Law Office.

Judge Jason A. Cuomo is assigned to the case.
