CHARLESTON – The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce PAC is endorsing Beth Walker for the state Supreme Court.
“Beth Walker has extensive legal experience in West Virginia and would make an excellent addition to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals,” Chamber President Steve Roberts said. “I have known Beth as a person who approaches every situation on a case by case basis and carefully weighs all aspects before making a decision.”
The West Virginia Chamber PAC is the political arm of the West Virginia Chamber, which has members in all 55 counties that employ the state’s private sector workforce. The Chamber PAC is a solutions-based organization working to advance policies and programs that will spur economic growth, increase employment opportunities, enhance the state’s business climate and improve the well-being of all West Virginians.
“We are working hard to earn the support of organizations throughout West Virginia that appreciate the importance of a fair, impartial and nonpolitical judiciary," Walker said. "I am honored that The Chamber PAC has endorsed my candidacy for Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals."
Walker is one of five who have filed for one seat on the bench. The other candidates include incumbent Justice Brent Benjamin, former Justice and state Attorney General Darrell McGraw, former state legislator Bill Wooton and Clay County attorney Wayne King.
Starting this year, all judicial elections in West Virginia are non-partisan. That means the candidates aren’t tied to political parties. It also means the May 10 primary is the only election for judicial seats.
