KINGWOOD — A Pennsylvania couple say they never received the title to a camper they purchased in 2014 along with two lots through Big Bear Real Estate for $25,500.
Kenneth C. Beck Sr. and Darci L. Beeghley filed a lawsuit Feb. 24 in Preston Circuit Court against Alyeska Inc., doing business as Big Bear Real Estate, and land/camper sellers John C. Persons and John E. Scarpelli.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs purchased two lots and a camper near Big Bear Lake Camplands from Persons and Scarpelli in a deal brokered by Big Bear Real Estate. However, the suit says that despite numerous requests, they never received a certificate of title for the camper, which the defendants were required to submit within 60 days of the sale.
The plaintiffs are seeking one of three options for relief: (a) restoration of the missing title; (b) a refund for the camper and improvements they made to it; or (c) an order directing Persons and Scarpelli to repurchase the land and camper with the additional cost of the improvements made and closing costs. They are represented by attorney Michelle Minutelli of Whiteman Burdette PLLC in Fairmont.
Judge Lawrance S. Miller Jr. is assigned to the case.
