PRINCETON — A Mercer County woman says she was injured when the driver of a cargo van struck her vehicle in a gas station parking lot.

Angela Vaught filed a lawsuit Feb. 26 in Mercer Circuit Court against Scott Steele Plumbing & Heating Inc. and Troy Allen Steele, alleging personal injury liability.

According to the complaint, on March 5, 2014, Vaught was pulling into the BP gas station on State Route 20 near Pisgah Road when Steele, in the course of his employment with the plumbing company, backed a cargo van into Vaught's Dodge Caravan. The suit claims Steele was careless in executing an unsafe reverse maneuver, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff’s neck, spine and shoulder, plus expenses for ongoing medical and surgical care.

Vaught seeks a jury trial, reimbursement for medical expenses so far totaling $6,041, and other damages to be established at trial. She is represented by attorney Wayne S. Stonestreet of Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner PLLC in Princeton.
