Neighbors accuse Williams Ohio Valley of noise pollution

Noise pollution

MOUNDSVILLE — A group of two dozen Marshall County property owners are suing an oil and gas company for allegedly creating a noise nuisance in their neighborhood.

Mark and Carolyn Tennant, along with 22 other plaintiffs, filed a lawsuit March 2 in Marshall Circuit Court against Williams Ohio Valley Midstream LLC, alleging negligent and reckless conduct.

According to the complaint, Williams operation of the Burch Ridge CRP and the Corlep CRP has created an unacceptable amount of noise in the surrounding neighborhood, preventing the plaintiffs from enjoying their property; causing annoyance, mental anguish and stress; and diminishing their property values.

The plaintiffs seek a jury trial and punitive and compensatory damages to be established at trial, plus litigation fees. They are represented by attorney Eric M. Gordon of Berry, Kessler, Crutchfield, Taylor & Gordon in Moundsville.

Judge David W. Hummel Jr. is assigned to the case.
