LOGAN – A Logan County man is suing General Motors for allegedly selling him a truck with numerous defects in materials and workmanship.

Donald Yates filed a lawsuit March 15 in Logan Circuit Court against General Motors Co., alleging breach of warranty.

According to the complaint, Yates bought a new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado from Thornhill GM Superstore on May 15, 2015, for $42,276. Since the purchase, the plaintiff claims he has experienced serious, repetitive defects in the vehicle, despite numerous repair attempts.

Yates seeks a jury trial and a refund of the purchase price of the vehicle, as well as taxes and licensing fees, plus reimbursement for repairs and legal expenses. He is represented by attorney Steven S. Wolfe and J. Christopher White of Wolfe, White & Associates in Logan. Judge William Douglas Witten is assigned to the case.
