Software firm accuses customer of defaulting on credit agreement

BECKLEY – A Pittsburgh firm is suing Med-Surg Group of West Virginia for allegedly owing almost $20,000 in unpaid bills for software and services.

CareCloud Corp. filed a lawsuit March 15 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Med-Surg Group Inc., alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the parties struck a deal on May 28, 2014, whereby CareClould would provide software to manage its medical practice, with the defendant making payments on the balance owed. When Med-Surg Group allegedly defaulted in August of 2015, the suit says, it owed $5,338, plus an early termination fee of $14,303 per the contract.

CareCloud seeks recovery of the entire amount owed, $19,641, plus 18 percent interest accruing from Oct. 11, 2015, and litigation costs. It is represented by attorney John R. Keating of Amato Keating and Lessa P.C. of Bethlehem, Pa.
