AG's office announces April mobile office hours

CHARLESTON – A consumer representative from West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey's office will hold public events during April throughout Cabell, Kanawha, Putnam and Wayne counties.

The representative will educate consumers on the latest scams in their area, provide tips on how to guard their personal information and answer questions about consumer protection settlements.

Andrea Lannom, a consumer outreach and compliance specialist with the office, will host the events, which are scheduled below:

* April 1: 4 p.m. –9 p.m. Consumer Protection Information Booth, Charleston Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Dr., Charleston

* April 2: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Consumer Protection Information Booth, Charleston Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Dr., Charleston

* April 3: Noon – 5 p.m. Consumer Protection Information Booth, Charleston Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Dr., Charleston

* April 4: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at the Putnam County Library Teays Valley Branch, 4219 State Route 34, Hurricane

* April 7: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at Wayne Senior Center, 440 Cleveland St., Wayne

* April 7: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at the Wayne County Circuit Court, 707 Hendricks St., S. Court St., Wayne

* April 11: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Salt Rock Senior Center, 5490 WV-10, Salt Rock

* April 18: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Mobile Office Hours at Buffalo Senior Center, 48 Wrights Ln., Buffalo

* April 25: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at John Henson Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Ave., Hurricane

* April 26: 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Money Smart Week Mobile Office Hours at the Charleston Post Office, 1002 Lee St., Charleston

* April 27: 10 a.m. –1 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at Milton Senior Center, 1032 Church St., Milton

* April 28: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at the Shepherd’s Center at First Presbyterian Church’s Activities Building, 2nd Floor, 16 Leon Sullivan Way, Charleston

* April 29: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free Credit Report Event at Bison Senior Center, 330 Buffalo Creek Rd., Kenova

“Keeping consumers up-to-date on scams, consumer protection settlements and consumer related issues is a big part of what we do,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Having the opportunity to ask questions and speak with a representative directly is extremely beneficial to the consumer.”
