LOGAN – A Logan County woman says she was injured when her vehicle flipped on a dangerous road that the city of Logan allegedly failed to adequately mark as closed.
Briana White filed a lawsuit March 17 in Logan Circuit Court against the city of Logan, claiming negligence.
According to the complaint, during a March 28, 2014, drive down Pine Street in Logan County, White’s vehicle entered a landslide area, sending the car over a steep hill where it flipped several times before landing upside down in a parking lot. Although the city had posted signs stating the road was closed, the suit says no barriers were in place and White was unaware of the danger. As a result of the accident, White says, she suffered a broken right leg, a deep puncture wound to her left leg, multiple cuts and bruises, and damage that left her right thumb non-functional.
White seeks a jury trial, plus compensation for medical costs and lingering complications, plus lost wages, diminished earning capacity, and litigation costs. She is represented by attorney J. Timothy DiPiero of DiTrapano, Barrett, DiPiero, McGinley & Simmons of Charleston.
