LOGAN – A Logan County woman is petitioning the court to settle a personal injury case on behalf of her 9-year-old twin daughters.

Brandy Bryant, as mother and next friend of Destiny and Christin Bryant, filed a lawsuit in Logan Circuit Court against the Logan County Board of Education.

According to the complaint, the two girls were injured on June 15, 2015, as passengers in a car struck by a Logan County Board of Education school bus. The sisters suffered multiple bruises from the accident, the suit says, and incurred combined medical bills of $3,781 and $1,000 for attorney’s fees. The plaintiff states the school board’s insurance company has offered a $6,000 settlement for each child.

Bryant seeks to accept the insurance settlement for her daughters, holding the net amount after paying medical and legal expenses in an interest-bearing account until they turn 18 years of age. She is represented by attorney Jennifer E. Tully of Bailey & Wyant PLLC in Charleston.
