Attorney General announces Money Smart Week events for the Metro Valley

CHARLESTON – The Attorney General’s Office has announced Money Smart Week events to help educate consumers on financial literacy.

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced the schedule for next week’s events to celebrate Money Smart Week 2016.


The events are designed to remind consumers about financial literacy and educate them on ways to protect personal information.

“The events during Money Smart Week allow our office to provide important information that helps consumers better manage their personal finances,” Morrisey said. “One of the main goals for this week is to connect with West Virginians by offering necessary tools to make smart money decisions and to help them avoid getting into bad financial situations because of scams.”

Money Smart Week events hosted by the office’s regional consumer outreach and compliance specialist are scheduled as follows:

• April 25: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Money Smart Week Free Credit Report Event at the John Henson Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Ave., Hurricane

•April 26: 8 - 10:30 a.m. Money Smart Week Mobile Office Hours at the Charleston Post Office, 1002 Lee St., Charleston

•April 27: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Money Smart Week Free Credit Report Event at the Milton Senior Center, 1032 Church St., Milton

•April 28: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Money Smart Week Free Credit Report Event at Shepherd's Center at First Presbyterian Church's Activities Building, 2nd Floor, 16 Leon Sullivan Way, Charleston

•April 29: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Money Smart Week Free Credit Report Event at the Bison Senior Center, 330 Buffalo Creed Rd., Kenova
