Law money 08

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man says a reckless truck driver and his employer are responsible for injuries he suffered in a rear-end collision.

Alan Ray Maynor filed a lawsuit April 7 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Weaver Carriers LLC and Richard Weaver, alleging negligence, recklessness and vicarious liability.

According to the complaint, Maynor was traveling west on MacCorkle Avenue on June 20, 2014 when Weaver allegedly struck his 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe with a GMC box truck. The suit says Weaver, who was on the job for Weaver Carriers at the time of the incident, exceeded the speed limit and was driving in a reckless manner. Maynor says he suffered bodily injuries in the crash.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical limitations, diminished capacity to enjoy life and other damages. He is represented by attorneys Robert D. Cline Jr., Robert A. Campbell and R. Chad Duffield of Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC in Charleston.

Judge Tod J. Kaufman is assigned to the case.
