PRINCETON – Two children of a deceased West Virginia woman are suing their aunt and sister in a dispute surrounding their inheritance.

Melissa Mutter and Jeffrey Neal filed a lawsuit April 27 in Mercer Circuit Court against Patty Yost, Laura Billings, Renee Karlsen, Brenda Neal Gillespie and RLI Insurance Co., alleging .

According to the complaint, Debra K. Neal’s daughter Laura Billings drafted a will for her mother, as well as documents claiming power of attorney for Neal and transferring ownership of land to Yost, Neal’s sister. The suit says Billings was not a licensed attorney at the time of these actions, and the conveyance of Neal’s real estate to her sister allegedly violates state law by illegally bypassing her children.

Mutter and Neal seek compensation for their losses, damages, attorney’s fees and litigation expenses. They are represented by attorney Anthony R. Veneri of Veneri Law Offices in Princeton.
