Supply firm accuses dentist of owing for unpaid merchandise

Late 03

WINFIELD – A Putnam County medical supply firm says it sold an area dentist more than $9,000 worth of merchandise but has never received payment.

Henry Schein Inc. filed a lawsuit May 4 in Putnam Circuit Court against Dr. Dennis P. King Jr., alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, King purchased dozens of supplies for his dental office through Henry Schein in November 2014, but the plaintiff says a balance of $9,108 remains past due. In addition, Schein claims interest accrued at the rate of 18 percent from Feb. 23, 2015 through March 11, 2016, for a total of $1,716.

Henry Schein seeks damages in the amount of $10,824, with continuing interest of 18 percent still accruing. It is represented by attorney Arch W. Riley Jr. of Bernstein-Burkley P.C. in Wheeling.
