Couple blame property owner for alleged injuries

Slip01

WHEELING – A Ohio County couple is suing a property owner over claims the wife was injured by hazardous conditions in one of the firm’s buildings.

Bonnie Biro and Mark Biro filed a lawsuit May 6 in Ohio Circuit Court against Park View Realty LLC, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, while Bonnie Biro was completing a training session in the defendant’s building on June 17, she fell in the common area hallway. The suit says the fall occurred at a steep decline connecting the interior of her employer’s rented office space with the building’s central hallway. Biro claims the defendant breached its duty to maintain safe premises for the facility’s visitors, and is thus responsible for her injuries from the fall.

The couple seek a jury trial and damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and interest and litigation costs. They are represented by attorneys Anthony I. Werner and Joseph J. John of the John & Werner Law Offices PLLC in Wheeling.

Judge James P. Mazzone is assigned to the case.
