Man says fall in restroom led to sprains

Slip01

PRINCETON – A Mercer County man says injuries he suffered from slipping on a puddle of water at a restaurant caused him to undergo more than a dozen sessions of physical therapy.

Alan Flanery filed a lawsuit May 5 in Mercer Circuit Court against Mountain Star LLC, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, Flanery slipped and fell on a puddle of water in the men’s room of a Hardee’s Restaurant on Stafford Drive in Princeton on Aug. 24, 2015. The suit says Mountain Star, the store’s owner, is liable for the alleged unsafe conditions in the restaurant, which caused Flanery to sprain his shoulder and right hip in the fall.

Flanery seeks a jury trial, reimbursement for medical expenses topping $6,000, plus interest and compensation for emotional distress. He is represented by attorney Mark E. Wills of the Wills Law Office in Princeton.
