Law money 04

WHEELING – A Ohio County man says his former employer still owes him for his final week of work.

Donald Ritchea filed a lawsuit May 11 in Ohio Circuit Court against Firewater Restoration Inc., alleging a violation of the Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, when Ritchea resigned from his position as a project manager for the defendant on Feb. 24, he gave two weeks’ notice, with his last day on March 8. However, the suit says he was not given his final paycheck, nor a bonus he was due for work performed on Feb. 13.

Ritchea seeks a jury trial, reimbursement for unpaid wages, liquidated damages, litigation costs, totaling less than $75,000. He is represented by attorney Sandra K. Law of Schrader Byrd & Companion PLLC in Wheeling.
