NEW CUMBERLAND – A Hancock County man is suing a satellite TV provider for injuries allegedly caused by a technician during an installation at his home.

William Shope filed a lawsuit April 21 in Hancock Circuit Court against DISH Network LLC, alleging personal injury liability.

According to the complaint, on July 23, 2015, a DISH Network technician used a ladder to install an antenna on the plaintiff’s roof. During the installation, the claim states that the technician failed to properly secure the ladder, allowing it to fall on Shope, causing severe, disabling personal injuries.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages for his medical and surgical expenses, physical and mental pain and suffering, and litigation costs. He is represented by attorney M. Eric Frankovitch of the law firm of Frankovitch, Anetakis, Colantonio & Simon in Wierton.

Judge James P. Mazzone is assigned to the case.
