Driver faults another motorist for injury accident on Route 19

Car accident 38

FAYETTEVILLE – A Fayette County woman is suing another driver and his insurance carrier for allegedly injuring her in a chain-reaction car wreck.

Ladonna J. Benger filed a lawsuit May 19 in Fayette Circuit Court against Dr. Nabil Guirguis and Farmers & Mechanics Fire & Casualty Insurance Inc., alleging personal injury liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, on April 19, 2015, Benger was stopped at a traffic light in her Buick Rendezvous while traveling on U.S. Route 19 in Fayetteville. The suit says Guirguis lost control of his Ford Expedition, striking the car behind Benger, which in turn struck her Buick. As a result of the accident, Benger says she lost wages, incurred medical expenses, and endured pain and suffering.

Benger seeks a jury trial and compensatory damages. She is represented by attorney Jennifer Dempsey Meeteer of Farmer, Cline & Campbell PLLC in Beckley.

Judge John W. Hatcher Jr. is assigned to the case.
