A Plus Contracting was also named as a defendant in the suit.
In June 2014, Lowe’s was contracted by Grayson Assisted Living and Kevin Grayson to provide expert services in selecting and installing a generator at Grayson Assisted Living’s facility, according to a complaint filed May 11 in Wayne Circuit Court.
The plaintiffs claim Lowe’s retained A Plus to assist in inspecting the premises and installing the generators and in July 2014, Lowe’s selected the size of the generator that was necessary to adequately service the business premises and was contracted to install one that was previously purchased at Grayson’s private residence.
After installation of the generators, Grayson experienced numerous problems with the generators and made numerous calls for service repairs to both defendants and incurred costs have the repairs made, according to the suit.
Grayson claims the generator at his private residence was not installed properly and was in violation of safety codes and regulations and A Plus damaged the generator on one of its repair attempts.
The generator installed at the business facility was not properly installed and was not the proper wattage for the facility, according to the suit. The inadequate generator caused damage to personal property at the facility due to the inability to properly perform.
Grayson claims the defendants breached their contract, breached their warranty and were negligence.
Grayson is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Amy C. Crossan and Neil R. Bouchillon of Bouchillon, Crossan & Colburn LC.
The case is assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young Jr.
