Fort Gay woman sues Wal-mart for on-the-job injuries

WAYNE – A Fort Gay woman is suing Wal-mart after she claims it caused her injuries during the course of her employment

On May 19, 2014, Henrietta Stiltner was an employee of Wal-mart and was working as a manager in the Wayne store, according to a complaint filed in Wayne Circuit Court.

Stiltner claims over the course of her employment she was instructed to engage and/or work in an unsafe, improper and dangerous condition, which caused her serious injury.

As a result of the unsafe working conditions, Stiltner suffered serious personal injuries of a permanent and indefinite duration; pain and suffering, both physical and mental; loss of enjoyment of life; loss of capacity to earn an income and perform household and other related duties; incurred medical expenses; and annoyance, inconvenience, embarrassment and humiliation, according to the suit.

Stiltner is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Kenneth P. Hicks and D. Geoffrey Varney of Kenneth P. Hicks LC.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Darrell Pratt.
