WHEELING — A shopper is suing TDJ Wholesale Co. Inc. and Julie & Cara Inc., Save-A-Lot grocery operators, citing alleged failure to warn, negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Jennifer Stevens filed a complaint on June 17 in Ohio Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly maintain their premises in a safe and reasonable condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 21, 2014, she was shopping for groceries at defendant's store located in Warwood when she stepped in a slippery substance causing her to fall and sustain injuries that resulted in medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and loss of normal pursuit of life. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendant's employees allegedly left the wet, soapy area unattended, failed to place warning signs and negligently allowed a dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages she may justly entitled to, together with taxable interest and costs. She is represented by Gail W. Kahle of Law Office of Gail W. Kahle in Wheeling.
